The Project

The requirements of the scheme were to provide natural ventilation into the basement to this particular elevation via a grillage set flush with the adjacent pedestrian thoroughfare. The grille had to be robust as it would be exposed to pedestrian traffic, offer the required free ventilation area, and be compatible with the predominantly horizontal emphasis of the designed elevations.

Located on the banks of the River Aire, the mixed-use Brewery Wharf development has transformed over five acres of previously industrial brownfield land. The award-winning scheme comprises 75,000 square feet of office accommodation, 25,000 square feet of bar and restaurant space, 350 apartments and a 248-bedroom hotel all located within extensively landscaped surroundings which includes two pieces of public art.

N-I Bar’s ribbed surface makes it an ideal choice for environments in which non-slip qualities are important. Fitted in the same way as Neatdek and Flat Bar, N-I Bar boasts a high strength-to-weight ratio and a particularly attractive appearance.

NI Bar is a versatile product that is suitable for a multitude of other applications, including staging, decking, modesty screens, balustrade infills and roof access walkways. Its modular aluminium components are manufactured off-site and are easy to assemble with no welding required. The system offers a high architectural aesthetic and is virtually maintenance-free.
