The Project
neaco’s Spectrum Perforated Panel Balustrade has been manufactured, supplied and installed to Outwood Academy, an 11-16 academy, based in the coastal town of Redcar in the northeast of England. Outwood Academy existed in 2017 and became part of the Outwood Family of Schools.
The Academy required replacement balustrades on two stairwells, and another school recommended neaco to them. When completing the Site Survey, the old balustrade was still installed so before our Installation Team got to the site, organisation was needed to remove the old, ready for the new.
The Specification
neaco worked closely with Carnam Construction to make the specification suitable for the heavy traffic on the stairs. Both stairwells included around five metres of taller balustrade of 1500mm high. School applications regularly request this to deter children from climbing the Balustrade.
The Spectrum Balustrade was Polyester Powder-Coated with Centric Stanchions Grouted into the concrete. It included two handrails, a top rail and a lower rail offset from the stanchions. The infill was 3mm thick powder-coated perforated mesh panelling, which is low-maintenance and still aesthetically pleasing.
